As a lockdown project I bought an
ECU from a wrecker on eBay for $50, and hooked it up to my Arduino setup and was able to read the 17 digit VIN by hacking into the
CAN bus with a C++ script, mode 9 pid 2.
The NEVDIS site confirmed that it was from a written-off 2009 FG Ford Falcon ute, eGas. I now want to overwrite the VIN and return the
ECU to it's original factory state using my Arduino setup and was wondering if anyone here has done this? I assume I could probably do this with Forscan on Windows, but I am a MAC user and want to keep my costs down.
