As others have said, the text is not controversial- the picture is demeaning-
of China- given the context.
The rest of the world sees that yes- Australia is accountable, that is why we had the Brereton INQUIRY- and gave transparent findings. China does not understand the word Inquiry- or should that be Covid 19 Inquiry.
And yes- Australia will hold the offending soldiers accountable, following due process and procedurally just trials. Something again China could learn from- our procedurally fair institutions.
But this insensitive created image from the highest levels of Chinese government is a serious escalation make no mistake.
I also think Australia has to draw I line in the sand- fundamental issues of independence of Australia, things like imposing controls on foreign ownership of strategic purchases in Australia, and banning of foreign owned telco rolling out strategic information networks like 5g and Huawei, (some of Chinas grievances ) and if we sell out now for the quick dollar and to avoid immediate pain, we will be selling out our children and grandchildrens futures in Australia.
