Hopefully, for everyone's sake, the financial markets will come to grips with this and settle down. I really don't think this is big enough for worldwide markets to be melting down.
What it means for Britain, long-term, I'm not sure. If Scotland decides to have another vote, and votes for secession, that will weaken the UK economy. I don't know enough about the factors in play to predict one way or the other.
