I reckon they'll be a thing of the past soon enough, they're already studying what artificial noise is best to project out the front of these new 'silent' cars so that people don't walk out in front of them...

We're right on a tipping point, where a main stream SUV is advertising 1.9 L/100... It's just a matter of time before plug ins take over...

Small capacity turbo's will be what enthusiasts choose - and we will soon be discussing what triple or twin cylinder engine sounds best in the not too distant future I bet.
