I know of 2 road-going Mk 1 Escorts with zetecs. The owners are pretty coy about giving out too much info as they are not registered with zetecs. There are a few guys in the RSOCVIC undergoing conversions at the moment.
They are fairly easy to convert as they have the same gearbox bolt pattern as the standard kent and pinto motors. You have to run without a brake-booster or relocate to. The water rail, coil pack have to be related and a you have to get a water pump that rotates the opposite way to standard. There are kits you can buy in the uk but they are expensive. Allow for engineering!
I'm planning on putting one in my Mk 1 van....eventually.
