Well now, that's great news!
As to the valve saver - it does work, but wear difference over a couple hundred thousand km is minimal anyway. The lower stem guides would be maybe a touch more worn on a gas engine that never had the stuff, but never seen a rooted set of stem guides from a gas or petrol Falcon head.
