Yes thats sometimes the case but they have their own additive packages which affect quality and burn rate etc, etc. There is so many possible influences on fuel quality and characteristics, too many to list here. Personally here in Melbourne in regards to 98 octane petrol, I would only use and recommend Mobil 98 or BP Ultimate for ongoing consistency.
I had better add here that I sound like an advertisement for these 2 brands, this is not the case. Just connected with the transport, that's all.
